Jordan & Taylor:

A Case Study

A 1925 Pre-War Northeast Classic

When Jordan and Taylor bought their dream home, a charming Pre-War Northeast Classic built in 1925, they were immediately swept up by the home's character. The thick trim, the aged wood floors, the little nooks you don't find in new construction anymore...it felt like the kind of home you could grow old in.

They quickly learned that character does not keep you comfortable.

With a mix of outdated equipment, no modern air conditioning, and limited space for improvement, they realized that they would have to settle on limited comfort and high utility bills. This is a typical trade off to live in a home with so much else to offer. As the saying goes, "They just don't build them like they used to."

Then, they gave us a call...

We walked through the home together, and right away it was clear: this was a classic older home—beautiful, but inefficient. A lot of homeowners run into the same thing. These homes were built to last, but they weren't built for modern comfort.

Jordan and Taylor's one big worry was that they didn't want bulky equipment taking away from the character of the house.

The good news is that older homes like theirs can absolutely be upgraded without tearing the place apart.

Jordan and Taylor were thrilled to find out that today's HVAC technology doesn't have to stick out like a sore thumb. We tucked equipment out of sight, ran lines through unused cavities, and kept every room looking exactly how they wanted.

Now they enjoy smooth, even heating, quiet and reliable cooling in the summer,  lower energy bills, and most importantly, a home that still looks like their home.

If you're living in an older Northeast house and want modern comfort without losing the historic feel, we'd be happy to help!
